About Us

The Overcomer Hour team is led by Pastor Jean-Fritz Guerrier, Reverend Daniel Cohen and vocalist Vicky Mariconde.

          Pastor Jean-Fritz Guerrier, a former Fulbright and Sengel scholar, is a multidisciplinary and multicultural leader who is passionate about organizational development, and has been proposing and/or implementing new church models which, in his view, are more suitable for our contemporary settings. Rev. Guerrier’s ecclesiastical experience includes working as a senior pastor, an associate minister, a worship team leader, a Sunday school teacher, a trustee, and a member of the department of business and finance within his denomination. Thanks to his various speaking engagements, Pastor Guerrier has had the opportunity to travel to several US states as well as overseas to preach the word of God and train leaders.

 

          In secular work settings, he used to be a banker for the largest financial institution in the United States. In addition, Pastor Guerrier has had the wonderful opportunity to work as a consultant, a college instructor, a charter school’s board member, and a college administrator. He is also a husband and a proud father. He holds a Master of Divinity from Yale University, an MBA from Southern Illinois University and a Master of Arts from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School.           Reverend Daniel Aaron Cohen is child of God whose main mission in life is to spread God’s Love throughout the world. Reverend Cohen is currently an associate minister at Friendship Baptist Church in Hamden, Connecticut.  He is a dynamic speaker and is available to speak on topics related to humility, including “Humility in the Workplace,” “Humility and Mental Health,” and “Humility in the Church.”

          Reverend Cohen is a graduate of Columbia University, where he majored in Religion. He holds Masters degrees in Journalism from Northwestern University, in Divinity from New York Theological Seminary, and in Social Work from Fordham University.  Reverend Cohen is a licensed clinical social worker and currently works as a psychotherapist in private practice and in conjunction with Columbus House Shelter in New Haven, CT where he gives therapy to the homeless. Before becoming a social worker Reverend Cohen worked as journalist and as a teacher at the grade school, high school and college levels.

He is married to his lovely wife Christine and has two sons, Jason, 26 and Samuel 15.  He recently published an audiobook called It’s Not All About You!      Vicky Mariconde, is a Christian vocalist, songwriter and inspirational speaker with a passion for encouraging others through the ministry of song and the sharing of her powerful testimony. Her debut album entitled “Still I Know... “ attests to the faithfulness of God during her most trying time. This album includes portions of her testimony, as well as all original songs written by Vicky. 
     Additionally, she gives hope and motivates those going through the grieving process with her "Love, Loss and What’s Left" facebook ministry. 
A member of Vertical Church (West Haven, CT) for nearly 30 years, Vicky has served in the Music Ministry and numerous other ministries throughout the years. She has also served as Praise and Worship Leader for the International Women of Faith and Courage, Women in Battle, and Women of Character ministries. 
     Vicky’s story has been covered in the New Haven Register, and her single, His Name is Jesus, held the #1 spot in the Top 20, by listener poll on Arise Radio. She was the recipient of the Best New Female Gospel Vocalist in the Holla Back Video Gospel Awards in 2011.
